Frankie Nasso is an award-winning Director and Producer with over 2 Billion views on YouTube for his work with artists including Andrea Bocelli, Asking Alexandria, Beyoncè, Ice-T, Lil Wayne, Mudvayne, Parkway Drive, and RZA. He has directed Academy Award-Nominated and Emmy Award-Winning actors, and his short films and produced-features have earned recognition at the top film festivals in the world, including Berlinale, Cannes, Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, and Venice.
Frankie began his career as a child actor in leading and supporting roles with Academy Award-Winning and Nominated actors including Joe Pesci, Kathleen Turner, Harvey Keitel, Danny Aiello, and Cathy Moriarty. His passion for filmmaking enabled him to graduate with honors from New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, earning a B.F.A. in Film and TV Production.
Frankie’s first music video debuted on MTV when he was only 20 years old, catapulting his directing career of over 200 short films, docs, and music videos. Over the years he developed a signature for narrative-based music videos that felt more like cinematic shorts rather than style pieces. Explosive and controversial videos for artists in all genres showcased his ability to pull unforgettable performances from actors and musicians alike.
One of his greatest achievements came when Frankie was selected as 2nd Unit Director and Co-Producer for the documentary feature film Sing Your Song, based on the life of actor/singer/humanitarian Harry Belafonte. Frankie captured intimate footage of Mr. Belafonte throughout the US and Europe over the course of two years, and he considers it a life-changing experience. The film would go on to premier at the Sundance Film Festival Opening Night Gala, and win the NAACP Image Award for Best Documentary before being acquired by HBO Documentary Films, and shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Prior to that he and his team won the highly competitive Spike Lee Babelgum Award in Cannes for the crime/drama short film Officer Down. Frankie’s work as an additional cinematographer can be seen in Netflix’s documentary Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold.
Frankie recently completed his first feature-length directorial debut, a documentary on 3-Michelin-Star-Chef Curtis Duffy and his tumultuous past from childhood tragedy to culinary triumph, whose story served as foundational inspiration behind the hit FX/Hulu series The Bear. Additionally, Frankie is the lead producer on Following Harry, a follow-up to the 2012 Academy Award-shortlisted Harry Belafonte documentary Sing Your Song.Tribeca Fest hosted the World Premiere of Following Harry as a revered Spotlight+ screening, received by a standing ovation from a sold-out crowd of over 500 people, in celebration with the Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award, which was presented to Rosario Dawson, Jesse Williams, Aloe Blacc, Carmen Perez, and other artist-activists featured in the film.
2026-released films where Frankie has served as an Executive Producer include Angel Studios’ Solo Mio, starring Kevin James, Andrea Bocelli, Kim Coates, Jonathan Roumie, and Alyson Hannigan, as well as the James Gray-directed drama Paper Tiger, which recently premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival to a ten-minute standing ovation, and stars Adam Driver, Miles Teller, and Scarlett Johansson.
